Ana Marta Gonçalves hold a MSc and PhD degrees in Biology, specialization in Ecology, in University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Presently Ana Marta Gonçalves is a researcher at Marine and Environmental Research Centre (MARE), University of Coimbra, Portugal, and at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM), University of Aveiro, Portugal. Her research interests lie in the frontier between Ecology and Toxicology including human-induced global changes in aquatic systems and effects on biochemical processes of these communities, focussing in the potential impacts of anthropogenic and environmental stressors in aquacultures, animal food nutrition, and the repercussions to food quality and human health. Ana Marta Gonçalves is member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research – University of Coimbra (III-UC) and Board member of the Research Unit MARE. She is General Assembly representative (substitute) of MARE in EuroMarine network and representative of MARE in MARS network. Ana Marta Gonçalves is also Vice-Chair of SETAC Europe Education Committee and member of the SETAC Europe Development Committee. Currently she is also Board member of Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (IEAM) and Ecological Indicators Journals, and Review Editor of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Marine Ecosystem Ecology Journal.
