Biography

Meric Albay holds the Dean position in Faculty of Aquatic Sciences since 2012. He has 28 years of working experience in the academic career. He has important role in more than 30 project funded by national and international programmes as an coordinator or researcher. He has high level skills in the area of limnology, aquatic ecology, algal toxins, aquatic ecotoxicology, algal biotechnology, and algal ecology. His international recognation is highlighted by international articles, more than 15 invited seminars, and visiting international universities and institutes. He has been also on the organising committee for international conferences. Besides of the management of the faculty, his other major role involves training of graduate students, mentoring of post graduated/PhD students and early/mid-career researches. He is also President of the Fisheries Engineers Association.
