Biography

Dr. Abdel Rahman completed his Ph.D. in bioanalytical chemistry in proteomics at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Newfoundland-Canada). From 2011 to 2014 he conducted postdoctoral research in James Dennis’s lab, at Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital and University of Toronto (Toronto-Canada), working on the molecular mechanisms that control glycosylation on cell surface receptors in cancer cells at metabolic levels using metabolomics and glycomics strategies. In 2014, he was appointed as Associate Scientist at the research center of King Faisal Specialist Hospital (KFSHRC) and as Assistant Professor at School of Medicine at Al Faisal University. His current scientific interests are related to signaling pathways controlling the metabolic reprogramming in cancer. Dr. Abdel Rahman, as a member of the Newborn Screening and Biochemical Genetics Lab (NSBGL), is also interested in metabolomic biomarker discovery in several genetic conditions and mainly in the Inborn Error of Metabolism (IEM). Dr. Abdel Rahman has several publications in the field of proteomics and metabolomics.
