Biography

Membership of the Indian Institute of Ceramics was awarded in the year 2004. 3. Poster presentation on, �Extrusion of Alumina fibres by Sol-gel process� by J.Chandradass and M.Balasubramanian, has bagged the Second Prize at the International conference on Recent Advances in Composite Materials held at Varanasi, during December 17-19, 2004. 4. Poster presentation on, �Sintering and properties of new P/M aluminium alloys and composites�, by A.Dudhmande, Th.Schubert, M.Balasubramanian and B.Kieback, has won the best poster award, at Euro PM2005 Congress & Exhibition, held at Prague, Czech Republic, during October 2-5, 2005. 5. Paper published by V.Viswabaskaran, F.D.Gnanam and M.Balasubramanian on, �Study on utilisation of Neyveli clay in the production of value added ceramics�, in the Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society in 2002 has been selected for the Ganpule Award for the best paper published on Whitewares, Tiles, Sanitarywares and related subjects in the Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society during 2000-2004. 6. Oral presentation on, �Effect of SiCp on the dry sliding wear behaviour of Al-Si/SiCp composites produced by stir casting�, authored by S.Dhanalakshmi, N.Balasubramani, P.Sivakumar, R.Gnanamoorthy and M.Balasubramanian, has received the first prize at the National seminar on �Advanced materials for hostile environment-Present scenario and future perspectives� held at Thiruvananthapuram during 1-2 March, 2007. 7 Oral presentation on, �Development of ceramic membrane support by centrifugal casting technique�, authored by K. Mohammed Rashad and M.Balasubramanian, has received the best paper award at the International symposium for research scholars on metallurgy, materials science & engineering, held at Chennai during 11-13 December, 2014.
