Biography

Over the last couple of decades, Dr. Khan has made outstanding contributions to the understanding of forest regeneration dynamics, population biology of rare, endangered and threatened species and in assessing the threat status of forests and their resources in the Eastern Himalayan region and central India. All of these have not only contributed to furthering our understanding of the key processes but also have formed the foundation for advisories to forest managers to manage and conserve the forest resources of the northeastern Indian forests, one of Indias four mega-diversity hotspots. Conservation of bio-resources remains one of the basic needs in terms of the preserving biotic diversity that, in time, translates into richness of biotic wealth. Grant is fundamental for continuous growth of research agenda. Dr. Khan has been successful in getting multiple grants to inventories the bio-resources of northeast India and Central India. He has received many national and international fellowships. Dr. Khan is the fellow of many academies and societies. He has published 150 papers in reputed journals and 45 chapters in books/proceedings.
