Biography

Dr. Sukanta Mondal is currently working as Principal Scientist at ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore, India. He has been working in the field of genomics of hormones, reproduction and stress for last 19 yrs. His major research interests includes maternal recognition of pregnancy, cloning, characterization and expression of genes, understanding the mechanism of action of hormone on the reproductive tract, molecular characterization and expression of hormone receptors, cell signaling, understanding of mechanism that regulate ovarian follicular development etc.. He is a recipient of prestigious Overseas Associateship Award (long-term) by Department of Biotechnology. He has published over 60 papers in various National and International journals of repute and delivered invited lectures in the different conference throughout the country. His pioneering contribution in genomics has received prestigious awards like Prof. G. P. Talwar Midcareer Scientist award, Prof. G. K. Pal award, Dr. K. Anji Reddy award, Prof. P. B. Sen Memorial Oration award, and ISSRF Young Scientist Award. He is honored with the Fellow of Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists, Fellow of Society for Applied Biotechnology and Fellow of Indian Chemical Society etc.
