Biography

Dr. Qin obtained his Ph.D. from Duke University in 2008. Since graduation, he has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. Before joining SIUC, he worked in Duke Therapeutic Ultrasound Laboratory at Duke University. Dr. Qin’s research interests cover biomedical signal processing, noise induced hearing loss, ultrasound medical applications, machine learning, speech processing, and medical devices.

(a) Digital instrumentation and sensors, (b) Acoustics and noise induced hearing loss (NIHL), (c) Data acquisition and analysis, (d) Medical system development, (e) Therapeutic ultrasound, and (f) Haptics.
