Peter Rolfe received the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London, U.K. He was the Founder Director of the Biomedical Engineering Centre, Oxford, the Centre/Institute of Science and Technology in Medicine, Keele, U.K., and a WHO Collaborating Centre at Oxford. He is the Founder and Director of Oxford BioHorizons Ltd., U.K., and a Visiting Professor and Doctoral Advisor in the Department of Automatic Measurement and Control, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China. His research interests are based on metrology and modelling, and include invasive and non-invasive sensors for both micro- and nano-scale devices. His passions are for perinatal care in lower and middle income countries, seeking cures for cancer, and for saving planet Earth from human-caused environmental disaster.
