Biography

He has completed his PhD. from Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai in 1991 in an area of cancer research. He has more than 30 years of research experience in the field of cancer & stem cells 10 Research. He have established Molecular Diagnostics and Stem Cell Research laboratory and carried out various Research Programs in the field cancer research, Neurological & genetic disorders, infectious diseases etc. He has recipient of National Institute of Health (NIH), USA award and also worked as a faculty at M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas, USA for more than 2 years.

Research Interest

Established Hamster Tracheal Epithelial (HTE) as an in vitro model system to study lung carcinogenesis at Cancer Research Institute, Mumbai. Cloned 3 novel genes (GGT-Rel, KPL1, and KPL2) involved in differentiation of tracheobronchialhuman epithelial cells – National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), NIH, USA. Established several stable transfectant cell lines with Somatostatin Receptor 2 (SSTR2) gene for the Targeted therapies for pancreatic cancer– University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston Texas, USA
