Biography

Umer Rashid was born on December 6, 1980. His father name was Muhammad Rashid.He done his B.Sc. from Govt. College Faisalabad, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan Subject Studied: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. He done his M.Sc. from Department of Chemistry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan Specialization: Analytical Chemistry. The research Title: “Metabolism of Aspirin in Male Volunteers During Winter” and he done his PhD from Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan/United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Peoria, IL, USA.

Dr. Umer Rashid Fellow Researcher ~ Associate Professor of Institute of Advanced Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He is in the field of Specialization of Analytical Chemistry/Industrial Oil Products/Renewable Energy.The research title: “Production and Quality Evaluation of Biodiesel from Indigenous Vegetable Oil Resources” Specialization in Analytical Chemistry. Production and Characterization of Bio-lubricant Synthesis and Characterization of Heterogeneous Catalysts. Microwave Technology for Biodiesel Production. Exploration of Non-food Feedstocks for Biodiesel Production. Synthesis and Characterization of Sulphonated Heterogeneous Catalysts. Synthesis of Mesporous Catalyst for Biodiesel Production. Exploration of Non-food Feedstocks for Biodiesel Production. Furthermore, he has got expertise in state-of-the-art chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques (1H-NMR, HPLC, GLC, GC-MS, FT-IR, and X-ray Spectrometry) and also in Rancimat method. (OSI), DSC, ball-on-disk method and HFFR techniques for lubricity analysis of vegetable oils and biodiesel.
