Biography

Asli Aslan is an Assistant Professor at Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. She is an international expert in water microbiology, water quality and public health. She has conducted and participated in several health-related water microbiology projects worldwide. She has authored various manuscripts. She is currently the coordinator of International Collaboration for Sewage (IC Sewage) which is the global network that connects experts in water quality research. She is also a CMAS instructor diver with over 300 scientific dives.


Research Interest

Asli Aslan's research interests are characterization of the sources of pollution in urban and rural water environments to develop strategic plans for sustainable wastewater management assessment of long-term impact of anthropogenic pollution in marine, estuarine and freshwater ecosystems are developing and disseminating rapid methods for water quality detection and The use of quantitative microbial risk assessment to estimate consequences from exposure to infectious microorganisms in drinking and recreational waters.
