Biography

Ganesh C Bora is a Precision Agriculture and Machinery Systems Expert at Mississippi State University (MSU), USA. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in Agriculture and Biological Engineering Department of MSU. He is the present Chair (2016-17) of the USDA Committee NCERA180: Precision Agriculture Technologies for Food, Fiber, and Energy Production. A highly regarded experienced professor for 25 years in precision agriculture. He conducts research in telemetry in agriculture, UAS in precision agriculture, data management, precision planting, energy saving through auto-guidance systems, sensing techniques for variable rate technology, mitigation of climate change through precision farming, PWM techniques for precision anhydrous ammonia application, renewable energy. He was the Director of NDSU Bio-Imaging and Sensing Center from 2010 to 2016. He also received Superior Paper and AE50 award from American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and currently the Chair of ASABE Graduate and Undergraduate Instruction Committee. He has maintained an excellent global presence, received a patent in Kazakhstan for Helio Dryer and conducted workshops in Vietnam, Thailand, India and Bangladesh in 2015, besides teaching Advanced Agricultural Technology Management course every summer in Kazakhstan for last five years. He co-chaired the committee on Mechanization and Precision Agriculture in ASABE 2016 Engineering and Technology Innovation for Global Food Security, in Stellenbosch, South Africa. He received his PhD from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA; Masters degree from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand and Bachelor degree from India.
