Biography

Guna is a senior mental health clinical pharmacist from Waikato hospital. He joined Waikato Hospital in 2005 and specialising in mental health. His passion in mental health has carved a niche for the pharmacy profession’s contributory role in mental health. His special interest includes psychotropic drug interaction, psychiatric polypharmacy, antipsychotics the metabolic syndrome, and psychotropic drug induced sexual dysfunction.

Research Interest

His research interest has lead him to present papers at several conventions notably CINP (College International Neuropsychopharmacology) Pacific Asia conference 2008 ( Kuala Lumpur); ISAD(International Society of Affective Disorders) Regional Congress 2009 ( Brisbane), Medication Safety in Mental Health 2011(Adelaide); NZHPA Conferences 2007,2008,2009,2010 and the Mental Health SIG seminars 2007, 2008, 2009,2010 He has also addressed audiences at the Waikato Community Pharmacy group seminars and at the hospital grand rounds and psychiatric journal club sessions.
