Biography

Emmanuel R. Goffi is a philosopher of artificial intelligence. He is the Co-Director and co-Founder of the Global AI Ethics Institute. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Paris Institute of Political Studies. Dr Goffi is an AI Ethics consultant, a research member with the Z-Inspection® Initiative Frankfurt, Germany, a member of the Éthique, Langue, Communication et Numérique Team of the Université Mohammed Premier in Oujda, Morocco, and a research fellow with the Centre for Defence and Security Studies at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Canada. Emmanuel also represents France at the Global Advisory Board of the International Group of Artificial Intelligence. He has been lecturing in several institutions in France, in Canada and in Germany, and he has written numerous pieces on ethics applied to artificial intelligence. He is regularly invited to give talks and lectures, and to participate to expert meetings and boards worldwide. His research focuses on the ethical questions raised by the development and use of artificial intelligence stressing the importance of the cultural dimension of ethical appraisals of AI systems.
