Biography

Donald Davidoff, PhD, is chief of the Neuropsychology Department at McLean Hospital and an assistant professor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Responsibilities include management of clinical and administrative staff, clinical care, and training of post-doctoral fellows and psychiatry residents. He founded the Geriatric Neuropsychiatry Unit and for 16 years was the psychologist in charge. Dr. Davidoff has been honored with Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Residency Program's Outstanding Teacher Award and the Messner Faculty Award for exemplary teaching, given by the junior residents of the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Dr. Davidoff is also a senior consultant with the Levinson Institute, specializing in the teaching of leadership skills to physicians. He has served as chairman of the Commissioner's Task Force on Alzheimer's disease, on the State House Task Force on Elder Mental Health, and on the Alzheimer's Association's board. His practice includes both clinical and forensic work. Current research interests include nonverbal learning disability, cognition and mental illness, and the use of ECT. He is co-author (under the pseudonym G. H. Ephron) of five mystery novels about the forensic neuropsychologist Dr. Peter Zak.
