Biography

Hossein Tabari is a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, working on climate change impact on hydrological extremes. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles in world class high impact journals that are also well cited (> 2300 citations with a corresponding h-index of 27 based on the Web of Science). He is currently serving as an Editorial Board Member for the MDPI journals of Geosciences and Water. He has received several awards such as the 2018 Allianz Climate Risk Research Award (2nd prize) for his postdoctoral research and the 2016 Ernest du Bois Prize for his PhD research.

Research Interest

Past and future climate change impacts on hydrological extremes (extreme precipitation & flooding and drought & water scarcity), atmospheric driving forces of decadal natural variability of hydrological extremes, unraveling the role of natural climate variability and anthropogenic climate change on extreme events, uncertainty quantification in climate change results.
