Biography

Dr Amarnath Mishra has been working as a Senior Faculty of Forensic Science and Programme Leader at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India since August 2015. Prior to this, he had worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Tribhuvan University, National Medical College, Nepal and worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Kathmandu University, College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. Dr. Mishra has more than 12 years of experience in research, teaching, and forensic consultancy. Dr Mishra received his PhD degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Chemical Science from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (Formerly SHIATS, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, MHA, Govt. of India. He received his M.Phil. degree in Biochemistry with specialization in Forensic Biochemistry from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, Tamilnadu, India. He completed his M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic DNA Fingerprinting and Toxicology from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (Formerly AAIDU, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, MHA, Govt. of India and M.Sc.in Biochemistry from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj (Formerly Allahabad), India. He has worked as a Research Scholar in the pilot study on “ Non-registration of F.I.R." at Police Stations conducted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), MHA, Govt. of India.


Research Interest

Dr. Mishra is serving as editor, associate editor, section editor and reviewer in various National and International journals of concerned specialization and subjects. He has more than 50 publications in form of books, book chapters, research papers and research articles in conference, workshop, seminar, magazine, newspapers, television, and radio. He is the member of various National and International professional bodies. He is the Visiting/ Guest Faculty of various Colleges and Universities like Amity University Dubai, U.A.E., Department of Forensic Science and Criminology of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), National P.G. College, University of Lucknow, India. He is supervising four PhD candidates in the area of issue and prospective of DNA application, analysis of anesthetic drugs, analysis of fire accelerants in arson cases and determination of adulterants in dietary supplements respectively one. He has guided more than 75 undergraduate and postgraduate students of B.Sc., B.Tech., M.Sc., M.B.B.S. and M.D.
