Biography

Dr. Parodi is Geriatrician and Professor of Geriatrics and Public Health in the Faculty of Human Medicine at the Universidad de San Martin de Porres of Peru (FMH-USMP), in undergraduate and graduate. He is also Director of Research Center on Aging – CIEN of the FMH-USMP. Through CIEN, he collaborates with the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) and participated in drafting the “Action Plan on the Health of Older Adults Including Active and Healthy Aging (2010-2018)”. Clinically, Dr. Parodi worked for 16 years at the Geriatric Center of the Navy of Peru, others clinics in Lima and in the Peruvian Amazonas jungle. He is currently the Medical Director of Bamboo Senior Health Services, a day hospital for older people. He is author or coauthor of numerous articles in clinical journals and national and international books. He has participated as academic coordinator, moderator and speaker at various national and international courses and congress. He is Member of executive committee of the Latin American Academy of Medicine for the Elderly (ALMA), member of Board of the Panamerican Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF) and member of the Expert Center of the International Federation of Ageing (IFA). He also is member of the Society of Geriatric Medicine (SEMEG) of Spain, a full member of the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology and a member of the International Committee of the Board – Colombian Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics. In Peru is the member of the Peruvian Society of Geriatrics, serving currently as a member of the Board.
