Biography

Prof. Dave Winkler is a honorary Fellow at CSIRO Manufacturing in Clayton, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at Monash University, Professor or Biochemistry and Genetics at Latrobe University, adjunct Professor at Flinders University, and visiting Professor in Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham. He has been at CSIRO for >30 years and has worked on a variety of projects involving the discovery of bioactive agents. He has substantial experience working with industry. Past and present industry clients include Amrad, Du Pont, Schering Plough, Bio-RAD. His work has also contributed to start up companies such as Starpharma, Betabiotics, and Asymmetrex. His current research interests include: molecular design, computational chemistry, QSAR, complex systems, molecular modelling, stem cell modelling and simulation, computational nanotoxicology, design of materials, tissue engineering and biomaterials. He licensed his MolSAR machine learning molecular modelling methods to the Bio-RAD Corporation
