Biography

Ankur Gupta has 11 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in the Asia Pacific region and emerging markets. Key expertise in organizing input and output scientific meetings, phase 4 and surveillance studies, KOL management and leading medical affairs country teams in making and delivering product/ therapy area strategy. Lead in strategising and execution of programs and projects to counter Antimicrobial Resistance and foster antimicrobial stewardship and setting up scientific protocols for evidence-based disease management at MSD Pharmaceuticals, helped in conceptualising and implementing Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Programme across India and many other developing markets like Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil, Russia, Philippines, Colombia and South Africa. More than 150 hospitals in India have adopted this programme to optimize the use of antibiotics. So far more than 1000 hospitals have rolled out this program in more than 25 countries in the last 8 years. AMS was awarded the prestigious GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD in 2011 in the innovative service category. He helped in creating novel digital platforms for evidence-based medicine and created clinical decision support systems of management of infections in critical care. In addition, have delivered more than 300 lectures, CMEs across India and in regional plus international conferences on the subject of rational antibiotic, antifungal use and also on AMS
