John Budarick is a lecturer in the Department of Media at the University of Adelaide. He completed a first class honours in sociology at Flinders University before going on to do my PhD at Monash University in the Department of Media and Communication. He is a media sociologist who works in the areas of race, ethnicity and the media, transnationalism and diaspora, media and national identity, and media and social theory. He has been published in several international academic journals, such as Media, Culture and Society, International Journal of Communication, and Global Media and Communication.
