Jaehwan Kim received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Inha University in 1985, M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from KAIST in 1987, and Ph.D. degree in engineering science and mechanics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In March 1996, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Inha University, Korea, where he is Inha fellow professor. He is an associate editor of smart materials and structure as well as smart nanosystems in engineering and medicine, and editorial board member of International Journal of Precision Manufacturing and Engineering, and Actuators. He has been the director of Creative Research Center for EAPap Actuator funded by National Research Foundation, Korea. He is a fellow of The Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and Institute of Physics.
Smart materials, structures and devices, electro-active polymers, cellulose smart materials, microwave power transmission, bio-mimetic actuators, biosensors and flexible electronics.
