Dr. Tracy Roake is an advanced midwife and general nurse. She is currently the Head of Education and Student Affairs at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Tracy has been awarded a DBA, MBA, M.Sc. Healthcare management degree, and has a Master of Applied business research; she is a qualified hypnobirthing instructor and has a diploma in Aromatherapy, Herbalism, Reflexology, and Naturopathy. She is a BLS, NRP, and PROMPT instructor. She has a great passion for midwifery and pioneered all the first private hospital water births in KZN, South Africa. She is also a facility member of the PROMPT foundation in the United Kingdom.
The intention of this presentation is to provide the participant with an overview of how to master competency management and frameworks and to ensure a healthcare setting is always up to date with evidence-based knowledge to provide evidence-based care.
This presentation will describe the journey to developing a process to ensure all relevant competencies are appropriate for the skill mix while creating effective communication pathways and brilliant ideas on competency innovations within a busy women's and children’s hospital. From development, facilitating, and assessing competencies, through blended learning activities. DAE hospital manages competencies in two different manners from fun and interactive activities to bedside competency facilitation.
This presentation will knowledge share the two different ways of evaluating clinicians' competencies and provide the audience with a clear understanding and insight of competency framework success.
