Biography

Dr Bhanu Prakash KN, is the Group Leader of Signal & Image Processing group at Singapore Bioimaging Consortium, A*STAR. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Technology from University of Mysore and later obtained his Master’s and Doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His PhD thesis was in the area of Image processing algorithms for improving medical diagnosis. Later, he joined Agency for Science, Technology and research (A*STAR) as a research scientist and was involved in developing algorithms for various projects like ML based segmentation of TBI regions and its sub-regions in a large cohort study , Automatic tracking and monitoring of mouse behavior during various interaction tests, Adipogenesis quantification, Texture based classification for grading stages of Brain Tumour (with KK Hospital), Zika Infected Marmoset Brain Morphometry (with SIgN and SGH), Adipose tissue quantification – Rodent & Human study, Whole brain metabolite and temperature mapping, Stroke CAD for Clot lysis – rTPA treatment management (with JHU), Singapore Stroke Suite (Ischemic and Hemorrhagic – MR/CT based) , Fast Talairach Transformation (Atlas based analysis) etc. He has about 15 patents to his credit and about 90 publications. He has collaborative projects with clinicians and hospitals from different parts of the world. He is member of ISMRM, IEEE and other organizations.
