He did his PhD work from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India and Post-Doctoral work from the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, TIFR Bangalore, India.

He works on Discrete Dynamical Systems, Fractals, Quantitative Biology, Mathematical Morphology & Cellular Automata.
