Biography

Dr. Antonio Mateo is currently the Head and Faculty member of Petroleum Engineering Technology Department at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (ADPoly), Institute of Applied Technology. Dr. Mateo also worked as a Senior Lecturer for Oil & Gas Engineering at Nizwa College of Technology, Oman for 7 years. Before working in UAE and in Oman, he was a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Graduate and Undergraduate Departments at the Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines, and he also served as Vice-President for Student Affairs at the same university for more than 6 years. He is a registered Chemical Engineer in the Philippines, and he has worked as a Project Engineer in the polymer production and physical refining plants. He acquired his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of the Philippines, respectively. He was a Philippines' government research scholar and conducted his PhD Dissertation (Thesis) at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. His dissertation study mainly focused on petroleum and aqueous fluid transport that induced low turbulent friction (drag reduction) and altered rheological properties by using synthesized chemical additives.
