Biography

Before even anyone in the Middle East recognized what Market access is in the Middle East, Hanadi Nahas started her journey in establishing the Market Access notion in the Lebanese Market. Having earned her Bachelor degree in Pharmacy and armed with 23 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, 10 out of them in Market Access Hanadi's goal was always to ensure that Access mindset is embedded in the organization at all levels. Hanadi landed coverage of both Lebanese and Iraqi Market and lead main working groups in Pharma trade associations where she addressed serious topics related to healthcare and patient safety and policy shaping leading to some policies in place. The best way she followed to do that, she felt, was to complement With an extensive her experience of 14 years in sales & marketing, Hanadi understood the need of by shifting the mindset from conventional stakeholders & physicians to payers, reimbursement bodies and other unconventional stakeholders. Thus, in 2009, she accepted her position in handling Market Access for Roche Lebanon; working closely with payers, reimbursement bodies and governmental officials, to introduce and highlight the concept of Access that was completely new to Lebanese pharma industry back in 2008-2009. After gaining extensive experience of Sales and Marketing since she started her career in 1995. In the beginning of her journey in Access, Hanadi focused on Identifying the socio-economical & political profile of a country to defines the opportunities and challenges, and hence, create a greater helps understanding of the impact on drug access of Access to medications to patients. Throughout this journey, Hanadi designed access strategies and solutions for different disease areas and contributed positively to the business growth and development and that is what Hanadi exactly focused on in the beginning of her journey in access. After several experiences in Hanadi's path, the main period which shaped her skills, competencies was definitely during her services in Roche which lasted for 16 years where she accepted many challenges in several disease areas and contributed positively in the business development and growth In 2009 onwards, Hanadi was intrigued by the "world" of payers, reimbursement bodies and governmental officials she had to interface daily leading to integrating the market access concept at level of corporate but also, partner with payers to help them understand what is its added value where market access idea was completely new to Lebanese pharma industry back in 2008-2009 Hanadi was Recognized as a high potential expert in Access by in 2012 for after strengthening the understanding of the health care environment in Lebanon.Hanadi's career took another direction when she was requested to accept leading the market access department in Roche Iraq, with an objective to ensure access of drugs medication and a target of reach 100 Million USD. Moving easily from F2F interactions to a remote virgin market, not exposed for long years due to war, Hanadi's career was well focused in shaping the Iraqi HC environment and find identifying new opportunities to in developing grow the whole business in Iraq. She exceeded expectations in setting the ground for building up the internal and external channels of communication with different types of stakeholders, specifically after identifying many stakeholders and partners like NGO, Patient groups, The Ministry of Finance and others. She was a pioneer in introducing innovative pricing solutions in Iraq to overcome challenging budget deficits, through her where she contributed contribution in creating an SOP for early access to patients through in patient access programs. She worked as well towards, empowering patient groups towards in advocacy, and made in addition to many other achievements. In summary, Hanadi gained expertise in both the strategic & technical access planning and execution at the corporate level of corporate and market level also through in understanding the payer's landscape, in order to align with their vision and strategies including drug in cost, pricing and value proposition Today, Hanadi Nahas resides with her family in Beirut. With her two daughters, she is actively seeking her next executive challenge. While open to opportunities, she is focusing her activities on Strategic Market Access and Health Policy.
