Biography

Dr. Chuanxi Yang’s research interests lie at the interface of semiconductor thin films, solid state physics, photovoltaics and photonics. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from Harvard University. Prior to Harvard, he received a double degree of B.E. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, and B.E. in Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering from University of New South Wales, which was sponsored by Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP). From 2011 to 2012, he was a research assistant in the State Key Laboratory of Modern Optical Instrumentation, where he was involved in a project on single-nanowire single-mode laser.Dr. Yang is the recipient ofThe Photovoltaics Prize,Wal Read Memorial Award and Kao Fellowship from Harvard University. He has also served on the technical program committee of IEEE OGC conference. Since 2017, Dr. Yang has been working at Applied Materials, Inc. in the United States, where he focuses on developing novel semiconductor materials using plasma assisted technologies.
