Biography

Yan Liang obtained her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Cellular Biology Program at Ohio University where she identified and characterized several glycosyl transferases involved in glycoprotein biosynthesis for plant cell wall assembly. She is now a Biologist Project Scientist at Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) at Berkeley, CA, USA. She serves as an associate editor for the journal of Plant Method.

Research Interest

To develop novel tools and strategies for efficient cell wall engineering of plants for biofuel production.
