Ahmed Hassanin, MD is an instructor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center where he functions as a day time hospitalist since he joined the Hospital Medicine Group in 2016. Dr. Hassanin was born and raised in the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria in Egypt, where he graduated from Alexandria University School of Medicine in 2009 with honors. Between 2010 and 2012, he completed a two year post doctoral research fellowship at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at Columbia University and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York. As a research fellow he published in several peer reviewed journals, including Euro-Intervention, on the role of innovative catheter directed therapies in improving cardiovascular outcomes in high risk patients.
