Biography

Rabiatul Basria S.M.N. Mydin is a scientist from Advance Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). During her postgraduate study, she was awarded with Academic Staff Training Scheme (ASTS) in year 2010 and a Young Scientist Scholar at 6th Asian-Pacific Organization for Cell Biology Congress, Ortigas Centre Mandaluyong City, Philippines in the year 2011. She has an interdisciplinary background, with a PhD in Cancer Genetics as well as a BSc. (Hons) in Biotechnology, received in 2016 and 2008, respectively. She started her academic career as a lecturer at Department of Oncology and Radiological Sciences, AMDI, USM in October 2016. She is really keen in doing research related to Carcinogenicity, Aging, Oxidative Stress & Antioxidants, Molecular Cell Biomechanics, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine. Presently, for her research work she was awarded with research fundings from Universiti Sains Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. She is working closely with Malaysian Society of Toxicology (MYSOT), British Society for Nanomedicine and associated with American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. As recognition for her extensive work, she has been invited to act as keynote speaker for Biomaterials Characterization Workshop: Cell culture, Cytotoxicity and Cell Morphology conducted by the Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMREC), SIRIM, Malaysia. Besides, she has also been invited as a judge for Malaysian International Young Inventors, EXCO 2017. From her publication background and expertise was given an opportunity to be an Honorary Peer Reviewer for Global Journal of Medical Research in 2017, Editorial board member of Reactive Oxygen Species Journal and currently is an active reviewer for Materials Today: Proceedings under Journal - Elsevier.
