Biography

Kwang Sik Kim is a professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Kim serves as the director of the Eudowood Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. He holds a joint appointment in molecular microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.Dr. Kim received his medical degree in 1971 from the Seoul National University in Korea. After serving three years in the Korean Air Force, he trained in pediatrics at Ellis Hospital in New York and Louisiana State University Division, Charity Hospital of Louisiana. A former fellow in pediatric infectious diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, UCLA School of Medicine, he left his post there as director of infectious diseases to join Johns Hopkins in 2000 as director of pediatric infectious diseases. At Johns Hopkins, he holds a joint appointment in molecular microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
