Biography

He is a psychiatrist and holds a Certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He completed his internship and specialization in Psychiatry in South Carolina and Maryland Universities in 1990. Then, he acquired the fellowship in Psychiatry and Neuroscience from the National Institute of Mental Health in 1992 and became a senior fellow of the same institute. In 1997, he joined the National Institute on Drug Abusewhere he was in charge of the clinical tests in Drug Development until 2010. He holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine in George Washington University. His Psychopharmacology researches and publications concentrate on the psychological effects of drugs and medicines prescribed for addiction, neurobiology, and mental diseases.
