Biography

Dr Josep M. Picas. M.D., at the University of Barcelona. Diploma at the ESADE Law & Business School of Barcelona. He has been Director of the Primary Care of Barcelona City and CIO at the Hospital de St. Pau in Barcelona From 2012 he is developing projects with the aim of improving the healthcare processes between Hospitals, Primary Care and Patients, using ICT & BPM. The main projects have been focused on Multiple Sclerosis, COPD and Oncological Processes. In all of them, special attention has been given to promote the role of nursing specifically the advanced practice roles Now, he is working on developing and applying, at the Spanish level, the concept of Population Health Management, working on Health Care & Social Care at the public and private sector. Also, he is beginning to promote experiences on using big data, machine learning and cognitive computing
