Biography

Hamid Mobasheri, PhD in Biophysics, head of Lab Membrane Biophysics and Macromolecules, Inst. of Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Head of Biomaterials Research Center (BRC), Univ. Tehran with expertise in molecular, membrane and cellular biophysics is involved in applying the law of physics to address and implement different monitoring and treatment tasks in drug delivery, tissue engineering and repair, through bio-resonance, bio-impedance, biomaterials, bio-electromagnetics and biomedical engineering means. Accordingly, based on the physics of living systems at atomic and molecular levels and as a member of national and world different scientific societies and research groups he tries to address diseases such as cancer, MS, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, MDR, by means of biophysical approaches to define complementary physical diagnostics and treatment protocols to substitute the current routine chemical/pharmaceutics ones.

Research Interest

Biophysical effects of high frequency electromagnetic fields on the biological matter at single molecularlevel. Investigation of the effects of biomaterials on the SCEP recovery in spinal cord injuries. Biophysical investigation of the effects of magnetic and electric fields on neural cell culture. Biophysics of tissue engineering, bioreactor design and biophysical monitoring and manupulation of cells seeded in polymeric scafolds involved in bladder tissue engineering. Surface plasmon resonance application in biological macromolecule detection. Biophysical investigation of structural and functional changes in OmpC and OmpF porin channels of E.coli outer membrane in response to various antibiotics using artificial bilayers.
