Biography

Dr. Agarwal is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, Miami. He has served on the faculty of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Brown University, Providence, Boston University, Boston, and as a Visiting Professor of Oncology at the Sri Ramachandra University of Chennai, and the Visiting Professor of Biochemistry at the Federal University Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil. He is a scientist, educationist and scholar. For the past fifty years, he has been working in the field of anti-cancer and anti-retroviral drug development. He has been involved in various research projects and has presented his work nationally and internationally, authored more than 100 peer reviewed scientific papers, book chapters and reviews, and has served as a scientific reviewer for various scientific journals and the Study Sections of NIH. Dr. Agarwal possesses a keen interest in science and spirituality and Yoga as a therapeutic component of integrative medicine which he has presented at a number of national and international meetings. He is a member of the Cancer Center, Center for AIDS Research, and the Bioethics Program at the University of Miami, and formally served as a President of the American Association of Indian Scientists in Cancer Research. He coordinated the development of a program for the educational standards of bioethics in biomedical research in India through the CITI-India program. Over the years he has addressed, including as a keynote speaker, and served as a chair at a number of conferences.
