Statement of the Problem: Rhinoplasty is a common procedure in a facial plastic surgery. This procedure requires a good facial analysis, a good knowledge of nasal anatomy, a wise technique selection, all of the above make rhinoplasty a challenging surgery. The purpose of this study is to describe the Universal Rhinoplasty as a term used to define a step by step in an orderly manner for more consistent and predictable results.
Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: This 15-step technique is focused on solving Sino nasal pathology, taking into account that the shape is part of this function. By doing it in this way, it allows us to organize our brain so that in a systematic way and based on a clear diagnosis, we can also optimize times; since by being focused on what we are going to do, our surgical performance becomes more effective.
Findings: With this technique, any surgical maneuver that the surgeon can be applied, the objective of this technique is based on systematizing the steps for better performance and results. Each one will have their own way and will master different techniques. Conclusion & Significance: The technique depends on the nose, it must be reproducible and safe, and we can modify it according to the needs or the surgical findings to obtain optimal results in form and function. These steps do not make all noses the same, but rather structure our technique to be able to choose different types of ways to resolve nasal pathology. Universal Rhinoplasty seeks to combine the best achievements of techniques, in order to provide a safe, sensible and planned approach to the most demanding operation for the facial plastic surgeon.
