Abstract:

Process additives (chemicals) are widely used in all parts of an industry. Process industries, especially those with continuous production like gas plants and oil refineries, use these chemicals for a variety of purposes. Ineffective use of these chemicals has a very detrimental impact on production (quantity and quality), energy consumption, equipment corrosion, environment and production costs. In this lecture, these impacts are first mentioned and the interrelation diagram of each of these parameters in a hydrocarbon industry is illustrated. An industrial example is then presented in which the path of the mentioned parameters is clearly present and the process analysis approach will be used to analyze the parameters.
