Neurology Congress 2018

Tokyo, Japan June 18-20, 2018

Theme: Harnessing the understanding and advancement in Neurology and Psychiatry

Meetings International proudly invites all the participants from all over the world to attend “World Congress on Neurology & Psychiatry” during June 18-20, 2018 at Tokyo, Japan.

Neurology Congress 2018 will be operated by world class experts in the field of neurology and Psychiatry , International symposiums, B2B meetings, workshops will also be organised to discuss the specific topics in the field of Neurology like Neuro Genesis, Neurophysiology, Neurological Disorders, Neuro Muscular Disorders, Neuro Infecticious Diseases, Neuropathology and Neuroplasticity.

The conference is aimed in to identify the genetic determinants of common disorders to understand the mechanisms underlying human cognition. Neurogenetic Disorders are common among developed and developing countries.

Genetic disorders and congenital abnormalities occur in around 2-5% of live births accounting for approximately 30% of pediatric hospital admissions in many places in the world. Neurogenetic conditions are generally chronic, long-term and incurable. In Japan approximately 10% of patients with neurological conditions have a single mutated gene as the basis for their disease. Furthermore, when polygenic inheritance is considered that is, the interplay between multiple genes and environment, a much larger proportion of neurological diseases are included. Dementia is strongly linked with age, and the Japan and other Asian countries have an increasingly aging population. Currently 20% of the Asian population is over 65, with this figure expected to reach 25% by 2030. In the Japan it has been estimated that dementia alone costs the economy £20 billion a year.

The human spine is a structure of 33 bones joined by ligament and muscle extended from skull to pelvis. It connects between the brain and peripheral nervous system which is the information connecting pathway. Spinal cord is protected by the three layers of tissues called meninges. Vertebrae is classified into thoracic, lumbar, cervical and coccygeal. Each vertebra in the spine is protect by invertebral disc. Spinal cord consist of 31 pairs of spinal nerves that transmits the signal to and fro between body and spinal cord. Any damage to the spine causes the loss of sensor or motor function.

The brain and nervous system are a target for certain infections and may also be indirectly affected by viral or parasitic infections, systemic bacterial and their treatment. Some pathogens, such as West Nile Virus, Borrelia burgdorferi, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), syphilis and other viral brain infections occur in otherwise healthy persons. Other infections, like fungal infections or rarer parasites tend to most commonly affect people with reduced immune systems from immunosuppressive therapy, cancer, chemotherapy or transplantation.

This has undoubtedly have widened the scope of neurosurgical practice. Paediatric neurosurgery, Functional neurosurgery, Neurovascular surgery, Traumatology, Neuro-oncology, Skull-base surgery, Spinal surgery are the different categories of neurosurgery

On average neurosurgery generates $1.68 million revenue for hospitals, while the average hospital compensation for neurosurgeons was found to be $669,000. The revenue-to-compensation ratio has been reported to be 2.52:1.

Importance & Scope

Globally, Neurology holds a position in the various medical centers of the world which varies from complete nonexistence to high and complex development. Development of the field of neurology by different types of clinicians, the rapid invasion of psychiatry, the late appearance of neurosurgery and the important recent advances in neurophysiology and neuro-anatomy, all help to account for this variability and demand a reconsideration of the scope of neurology.

Neurological reports examine the patient's health history with special attention to the current condition. The patient then takes a neurological exam. Typically, the exam tests mental status, function of the cranial nerves (including vision), strength, coordination, reflexes, and sensation. This information helps the neurologist determine whether the problem exists in the nervous system and the clinical localization

In 2016, the World Health Organization estimated that neurological disorders affect up to one billion people worldwide. In fact, neurological diseases make up 11 percent of the world’s disease burden, not including mental health and addiction disorders. The cost of these diseases is high across the globe. For example, the European Brain Council estimated in 2010 that neurological diseases in Europe alone cost one trillion dollars a year. Data from 2005 indicate that neurological illnesses affect more than 50 million Americans annually and cost more than $500 billion to treat. In addition, mental disorders strike 44 million American adults a year at a cost of $148 billion.
