Biography

Liang Chen has completed his PhD in Tea Science from Zhejiang University, China and Postdoctoral studies from Cornell University, USA. Presently, he is the Associate Director of National Center for Tea Improvement, TRICAAS. He has published more than 30 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an Editorial Board Member of repute.


Research Interest

He is responsible for the tea germplasm program at the TRICAAS. His research fields focused on the collection, conservation, evaluation and utilization of tea germplasms, breeding of elite tea cultivars, development and application of molecular markers, construction of genetic linkage map, analysis of quality related QTLs, isolation and annotation of functional genes, etc. He is working the transcriptome and genome of the tea plant.
