Session 2: Type 1 diabetes mellitus
A chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. The results of meta-analysis showed that the incidence of type 1 diabetes was 15 per 100,000 people and the prevalence was 9.5% (95% CI: 0.07 to 0.12) in the world, which was statistically significant. Conclusion: According to the results, the incidence and prevalence of type 1 diabetes are increasing in the world.

Session 3: Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Type 2 is the most common type of diabetes. There are about 29 million people in the U.S. with type 2. Another 84 million have pre-diabetes, meaning their blood sugar (or blood glucose) is high but not high enough to be diabetes yet. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and pre-diabetes are increasingly observed among children, adolescents and younger adults.

Session 4: Gestational diabetes
There were an estimated 223 million women (20-79 years) living with diabetes. This number is projected to increase to 343 million by 2045.20 million or 16% of live births had some form of hyperglycaemia in pregnancy. Session 5: LADA and MODY
It accounts for 2–12% of all patients with adult-onset diabetes. Faced with a paucity of large-scale clinical trials in LADA, an expert panel reviewed data and delineated one therapeutic approach. MODY is a form of monogenic diabetes caused by dominantly acting heterozygous mutations in genes important for the development or function of pancreatic β cells.

Session 7:  Body-weight regulation in children
Most  kids and teens are overweight when they're diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Being overweight or obese increases a person's risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Also, weight gain in people with type 2 diabetes makes blood sugar levels even harder to control.

Session 8:  Genetic risk of diabetes
Caused by a combination of both genetic and environmental risk factors however, there are other rare forms of diabetes that are directly inherited. These include maturity onset diabetes in the young (MODY), and diabetes due to mutations in mitochondrial DNA.

Session 9: Diabetes management
New diabetes cases have decreased over the last decade except in people younger than 20 years. And in adults, there is much room for improvement in preventing diabetes complications. New cases significantly decreased from 2008 through 2018.
