Session 01: Infectious Diseases and Its Symptoms

Infectious diseases kill more people worldwide than any other single cause. The diseases caused by germs and which may infect any part of the body are called infectious diseases. They can be spread by any means where there is a germ. They are caused by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, parasites and fungi. Germs can be spread by direct or indirect contact. Vaccination and maintenance of proper hygiene and medicines help in the prevention of infection. Infectious diseases can be caused by bacteria, virus, fungi and parasites through direct contact, indirect contact, insect bites and food contamination. Each infectious disease has its own specific signs and symptoms include fever, fatigue and muscle aches.

Session 02: Childhood Infectious Diseases

Childhood infectious diseases are the infectious diseases which are caused in children of different age groups. Infections are a common part of childhood, but some infections ail children for long periods of time potentially their entire lives or have very serious symptoms that need specialized treatment. Pediatric infectious diseases specialist’s takes care of the infections occurring in children and the treatment methods vary for children from adults.

Session 03: Bacterial and Fungus Infectious Diseases

Bacteria are microscopic single-celled organisms that live almost everywhere. Bacteria live in every climate and location on earth. Some are airborne while others live in water or soil. Bacteria live on and inside plants, animals, and people. The word "bacteria" has a negative connotation, but bacteria perform many vital functions for organisms and in the environment. Fungal Infectious Diseases are often caused by fungi that are common in the environment. Most fungi are not dangerous, but some types can be harmful to health. Mild fungal skin diseases can look like a rash and are very common. Fungal diseases in the lungs are often similar to other illnesses such as the flu or tuberculosis. Some fungal infections like fungal meningitis and bloodstream infections are less common than skin and lung infections but can be deadly.

Session 04: Veterinary Infectious Diseases

These are infectious diseases found in animals. Safety and quality are major concern of cattle industry as to provide food for the growing population around the globe. However, the cattle industry’s efficiency is far more from optimum. Infectious disease in animals may lead to their tremendous suffering and moreover, crippling economic dropping to the people who rely on these animals for their livelihoods. Even more than 60% of all infectious diseases of animals can also affect human beings. These types of infection are called "zoonotic infections" and Avian Influenza is an example of a zoonotic disease. Few other diseases are like Rabies, West Nile Virus, Hantavirus, Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis also known as ("Mad Cow Disease"), Lyme disease and etc.

Session 05: Infection and Immune System

The microbial invasion and their growth inside the host body are known as infection. Certain network of cells, tissues, and organs fight against infection that causes disease is called as immune system. The infection and immunity provides the interaction between bacterial fungal and parasitic pathogen interactions between hosts. This area includes expanded scientific study information on molecular pathogenesis, virulence factors, cellular microbiology, experimental models of infection, host resistance or susceptibility, the generation of innate and adaptive immune responses, innovative techniques that determine the Immunodeficiency disorders, autoimmune disorders, allergic disorders, and immune system studies and thoughts will be shared at the “Infection Diseases 2021” April 19-20, 2021 Berlin, Germany.

Session 06: Neglected and Tropical Infectious diseases

Emergence and re-emergence of neglected tropical infectious diseases (NTDS) has become public health burden affecting developing countries. NTDs are caused by parasites, viruses, bacteria infecting over 2 billion people worldwide. It took tremendous toll on global health causing serious threat and has not been effective examination or discussed in terms of their unique risk characteristics. Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of diseases that occur under tropical and sub-tropical climate conditions and are intimately linked to poverty. They therefore thrive in areas where access to adequate sanitation, clean water and healthcare is limited, and people live in proximity with animals and infective disease vectors, such as in remote and rural areas, informal settlements or conflict zones.

Session 07: Emerging Infectious Diseases

Emerging infectious diseases (EID) are the diseases whose incidence has increased in the past 20 years and could increase in the near future. Emerging infections account for at least 12% of all human pathogens. These are caused by newly identified species or strains e.g. Severe acute respiratory syndrome, HIV/AIDS that may have evolved from a known infection like influenza or spread to a new population like West Nile fever or to an area undergoing ecologic transformation of Lyme disease or be re-emerging infections, like drug resistant tuberculosis. Nosocomial is a hospital-acquired infection, such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are emerging in hospitals and extremely problematic in that they are resistant to many antibiotics.

Session 08: STD and HIV infection

There are a number of infections and cancers that can develop in people who are living with HIV. There are infections that can be life threatening. These are also known as opportunistic infections. The more common life-threatening infections include a lung infection called Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP), an eye infection caused by cytomegalovirus (CMV), a brain infection called toxoplasmosis, and a generalized infection called Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). Cancers that are more common include Hodgkin’s lymphoma, lung cancer, skin cancer, anal cancer, cervical and vaginal cancer in women, and testicular and prostate cancer in men. These cancers can often be successfully treated if they occur in people with HIV who maintain healthy immune systems with HIV treatment.

Session 09: Antibiotics and Advancements in Vaccines

Antibiotics are the most commonly prescribed medications in modern medicine. Antibiotics cure disease by killing or injuring bacteria. The first antibiotic was penicillin, discovered accidentally from a mold culture. Today, over 100 different antibiotics are available to cure minor and life-threatening infections. Vaccination against bacterial and viral diseases is an integral part of communicable disease control worldwide. Vaccination against a specific disease not only reduces the incidence of that disease, it reduces the social and economic burden of the disease on communities. High immunization can lead to complete blocking of transmission for many vaccine preventable diseases (VPD).

Session 10: Preventing Infectious Diseases

Infections are caused by micro-organisms known as pathogens, bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites that enter the body, multiply, and interfere with normal functions. Prevent infection before it begins and avoid spreading the infection to others by these easy steps:

  • Wash your hands well with soap. Dry your hands thoroughly.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth when you sneeze, then dispose it. If no nothing is handy, cough or sneeze into your elbow rather than into your hands.
  • Wash and bandage all cuts. Any serious cut or animal or human bite should be treated by a doctor.
  • Do not pick at healing wounds, or squeeze pimples, the infection increases rapidly across those areas.
  • Don't share dishes, glasses, or eating utensils with others.

Session 11: Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases

Medical diagnosis is the process of treatment which is helpful in determining which disease or condition explains a person's symptoms and signs. Laboratory tests may identify organisms directly or indirectly. General types of tests includes culture, microscopy, and immunologic tests (agglutination tests such as latex agglutination, enzyme immunoassays, western blot, precipitation tests and complement fixation tests) and nucleic acid/ non nucleic acid based identification techniques. Sub types of diagnoses include clinical, laboratory, radiology, principal and admitting diagnosis. Advanced methods have been approached to diagnose the infection in any part of the body.

Session 12: Health Care-Infectious Diseases

The infections experience in health care settings has become more challenging. Most of the duty workers get exposed commonly to a variety of infectious diseases during the performance of their duties. The primary route of infections transmission is airborne, contact (direct and indirect) which involves the entry of infectious agents from infected individual to a susceptible individual through physical contact and Indirect contact transmission occurs by susceptible individual physical contact with contaminated items. Infectious Diseases conference 2021 is going to be a platform to discuss microbes that cause illness and its awareness of exposure in the health care settings.

Market Analysis:

Every year, lives are lost because of the spread of infections in hospitals. Health care workers can take steps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. These steps are part of infection control.  Infection prevention and control measures aim to ensure the protection of those who might be vulnerable to acquiring an infection both in the general community and while receiving care due to health problems, in a range of settings. The basic principle of infection prevention and control is hygiene. Healthcare personnel might need to take additional infection control steps if a PUI or patient with confirmed EVD has other conditions or illnesses caused by specific infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis. Healthcare personnel can be exposed to Ebola virus by touching a patient’s body fluids, contaminated medical supplies and equipment, or contaminated environmental surfaces. Splashes to unprotected mucous membranes (for example, the eyes, nose, or mouth) are particularly hazardous. Procedures that can increase environmental contamination with infectious material or create aerosols should be minimized. healthcare personnel (HCP) refers all people, paid and unpaid, working in healthcare settings who have the potential for exposure to patients and/or to infectious materials, including body substances, contaminated medical supplies and equipment, contaminated environmental surfaces, or aerosols generated during certain medical procedures. HCP include, but are not limited to, physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, technicians, emergency medical service personnel, dental personnel, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, autopsy personnel, students and trainees, contractual personnel, home healthcare personnel, and people not directly involved in patient care (clerical, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, security, maintenance, billing, chaplains, and volunteers) but potentially exposed to infectious agents that can be transmitted to and from HCP and patients.
