About City

Las Vegas, city, seat (1909) of Clark county,  south-eastern Nevada, U.S. The only major city in the American West to have been founded in the 20th century, Las Vegas is Nevada’s economic centre and largest city. Its metropolitan area, with more than twice the number of people outside the city limits as within them, contains roughly three-fourths of the state’s population. Las Vegas is a place of million-light bulb signs and fantastic architecture, of readily visible wealth and carefully hidden poverty. It is a place of superlatives, both positive and negative. Within the city stand the largest glass pyramid in the world; one of the largest hotels in the country, with more than 5,000 rooms; and one of the most expensive hotels ever constructed, the Bellagio.

Las Vegas offers high quality high school education. Students are showing good performance in science, reading and math. Las Vegas has 5 universities listed in the rankings.  Overall, Osaka is ranked 111th of all Teleport Cities for university education. University of Nevada, University of Phoenix, Devry University, Nevada State College, Pima Medical Institute, College of Southern Nevada, Touro University, Roseman University of Health Sciences, Chamberlain University College of Nursing, are some of the research institutes in Japan.
