Biography

Currently Dr. Shimpi is working with Centaur Pharmaceutical Ltd, Pune as Vice-President- Research and Development. He looks after all research and development activities from project initiation to ANDA/dossier approval, including bio-studies, scientific justifications to regulatory agencies etc. Dr. Shimpi has expertise in development of all dosage form, and also is a good team player. He strongly believes in the strength of team work. His main interest is developing new dosage forms which have significant importance for safety, efficacy and commercial value. He has very good understanding in bioequivalence studies.Dr. Shimpi has worked with various organization in leadership positions, such as Sai Life Sciences Ltd., Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., Ipca Laboratories, RPG Life Sciences, His overall experience in formulation development is around 17 + years.

Research Interest

Dr. Shimpi completed his doctoral studies from Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune, India under the guidance of Prof. A. R. Paradkar and Prof. K.R. Mahadik. During his doctoral studies he published 14+ International publications. He has received various grants from Government as well as private companies for doing his Ph.D. studies as well as to present his Research work in International conferences. He got an opportunity to visit Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Algeria, Oman and Thailand for presenting his Research work and for business work. His research area is amorphous drug formulations, novel drug delivery systems, solubility enhancement of poorly water-soluble drugs, and improved in vivo performance for low permeable drugs.
