About City

Berlin is the capital city of Germany and is the largest city in Germany with a population of approximately 3.7 million. Berlin is a major center for culture, politics, media, and science. Berlin’s economy is mainly based on the service sector due to being one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

Berlin's most famous historic landmark is the Brandenburg Gate once a symbol of a divided nation and now a symbol of unity and peace. Between the River Spree and the Kupfergraben in a 400-meter-long canal the Spree Island is located, Spree Island is better known as Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will find many of the city’s oldest and most important museums, including the Old Museum.

Berlin has created a highly complex transportation framework giving very differing modes of urban mobility.979 bridges cross 197 kilometres of inner-city waterways, 5,334 kilometres of streets run through Berlin, 73 kilometres (45 mi) are motorways. Berlin is located in the eastern part of Germany and an important hub to the Eastern European states like Poland. Berlin climate can be best described as a humid continental climate.
