Genetic Engineering 2021

Theme: Multiple Facets leading towards innovation

With the amalgamation of peerless speakers, Meetings International is privileged to announce its “ International Webinar on Genetic Engineering” which will be a webinar held during May 29, 2021 in Singapore. We cordially invite all the eminent scientists, research scholars, notable geneticists, educationists, professionals and students to witness invaluable scientific discussions and contribute to the future innovations in the field of Genetic Engineering and discuss its current trends .
This International Webinar on Genetic Engineering 2021 will focus on the latest trends of Genetic engineering, its application in today’s world and also the future prospects . The Webinar offers an unique and exciting opportunity for investigators across the globe to meet, discuss, and identify novel scientific innovations. This Webinar highlights the theme “Multiple facets leading towards Innovation which   reflects the different aspects of Genetics ,its mechanism and its innovative progress in  research.

Session 1 Recombinant DNA Technology
Recombinant DNA technology  is a very powerful tool for editing genomes. Its many potential applications would include treating and preventing the spread of diseases, correcting genetic defects and improvement of crops. The market size is valued at USD 1.42 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 16.6% from 2020 to 2027.

Session 2: Genome editing
A technique widely used to bring changes in physical traits like eye colour, to reduce risk of diseases etc. It targets genetic modifications enabling knockout and addition of specific genes. About seven in ten people (72%) worldwide react positively to changing an un-born baby’s genetic characteristics to treat some serious genetic disorders , whereas 21%-30%  people consider this taking the technology too far.

Session 3: Gene therapy
Gene Therapy edits genes by precisely cutting DNA and then letting natural DNA repair processes to take over.CRISPR-Cas9 Technology  is also widely being used . The global gene therapy market is expected to grow from  USD 3.8 billion in 2019 to USD 13.0 billion by 2024, at a CAGR of 27.8%.It is projected to reach USD 13.0 billion by 2024.

Session 4: Genotyping
Genotyping is the process of determining the DNA sequences and determining the difference in genetic makeup of organisms. It has a very high scope in Biomedical research, clinics, agriculture etc. To determine the genes relevant to specific traits or disease, different Sequence variations can be used as markers in linkage and in association studies. In 2019, more than 1 million SNPs were genotyped using different genotyping platforms.

Session 5: Application today
Owing to its unparalleled ability to precisely manipulate plant genomes, genetic engineering has emerged as a powerful tool in healthcare. It has not only helped to develop novel varieties with desirable traits but has also revolutionized current treatment systems. The production of genetically modified crops will increase from 112 million tons in 2015 to 130 million tons in the year 2021.It also acts as an  effective and powerful genome editing tool that can introduce and enhance modifications to the eukaryotic genomes in a range of animals including insects, amphibians, fish, and mammals etc.
