Dr. Adeeb Ahmed began serving as a Chief Resident in Neurology and received the 1996 Best teaching award for Neuroscience. He trained under Dr. Thomas Swift, a renowned Neurologist and past President of the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Ahmed was actively involved in research and co-authored the textbook Stroke in Blacks. He trained under world-renowned Interventional Cardiologists Dr. Michael Savage and Dr. David Fischman, pioneers of the SAVED trial. Dr. Ahmed was actively involved in research. He proceeded then to practice at Springfield Clinic, USA Interventional Cardiology, and Neurology. While at Clinic he taught students at Southern Illinois School of Medicine, USA. He established a structural heart program at the Springfield Clinic. After 14 years of successful practice, he recently joined Christie Clinic in Champaign, Illinois. He is currently affiliated with the Carle Illinois School of Medicine and the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He has been nominated many times as one of the top 10 Interventional cardiologists in the State of Illinois. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology. His interest also involves Obesity Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, Adults with Congenital Heart Diseases, and Sports Cardiology.
