Diabetes Meeting 2018

Theme: Conquering diabetes and endocrinology challenges

Track-1: Endocrinology Research and Development

Endocrinology is a perplexing investigation of the different hormones and their action and disorder in the body. Endocrine Glands are organs that make hormones. These are substances that control exercises in the body and effectively affect the digestion system, multiplication, nourishment retention and use, development and improvement and so on. Hormones likewise control the way a living being reacts to their environment and help by giving sufficient vitality to different capacities. Diabetes is brought about by a diminished creation of insulin or by a diminished capacity to utilize insulin. Insulin, the hormone delivered by the beta cells in the pancreas, permits (glucose) cells to have the capacity to utilize glucose.

Track-2: Endocrine Tumor

The endocrine system is made up of endocrine glands. Endocrine glands produce hormones - chemicals that control many of our body's functions. Normally, the hormones released by endocrine glands are carefully balanced to meet the body's needs. The endocrine glands include the pituitary gland (which lies immediately underneath the brain), the thyroid gland (in the front of the neck), the parathyroid glands (just behind the thyroid gland), and the adrenal glands (on top of the kidneys in the abdomen).

Track-3: Endocrine Cancer

The endocrine system consists of cells that produce hormones. Hormones are chemical substances that are formed in the body and carried in the bloodstream to have a specific regulatory effect on the activity of other organs or cells in the body. For example, an element of the pancreas is made up of specialized cells clustered together within the organ, called islets of Langerhans. These cells produce multiple hormones, the most critical one being insulin, which is a substance that helps control the amount of sugar in the blood. An endocrine cancer is a growth that affects the parts of the body that secrete hormones. Because an endocrine tumor arises from cells that produce hormones, the tumor itself can produce hormones and cause serious illness.

Track-4: Diabetes and Its Treatment

Diabetes treatment has developed in novel years; the sheer number of new technologies entering into the type 1 diabetes marketplace is also growing at a remarkable rate. From the patient’s perspective, this can lead to a sense of optimism. Technologies that today are growing commonplace e.g. insulin pumps, rapid HbA1c monitoring, etc. come under new therapeutic mechanisms of diabetes. The major advances in type 1 diabetes care have come from technology rather than biology. At the same time, not all new technologies succeed regardless of their purported promise.

Track-5: Diseases and Disorders

Endocrine disorders are diseases related to the endocrine glands of the body. The endocrine system produces hormones, which help the body regulate processes. Typically endocrine disorders are related to an inappropriate performance of the pancreas and the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands. Disorders include diabetes mellitus, acromegaly, Addison’s disease, Cushing’s syndrome Graves’ disease Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism hypothyroidism. These disorders have symptoms; Treatments depend on the specific disorder but often focus on adjusting hormone balance using synthetic hormones.

Track-6: Neuropathy

Neuroendocrinology is the analysis of the corporation between the nervous system and the endocrine system, including the biological factors of the cells and their transmittance. The concerned and endocrine frameworks frequently act together in a procedure called neuroendocrine joining, to manage the physiological procedures of the human body. Neuroendocrinology emerged from the acknowledgment that the mind, particularly the hypothalamus, controls the discharge of pituitary organ hormones, and has in this manner extended to explore various interconnections of the endocrine and sensory systems.

Track-7: Alternative Therapies and Complications

Alternative therapies can be well-defined as a "cluster of varied therapeutic and health care arrangements, practices, and medicines that are not presently measured to be part of predictable medicine”. Complementary medicine is used with predictable therapy, whereas alternative medicine is used instead of conventional medicine. Although some of these therapies may be useful, others can be not so useful or even harmful. Contrary reactions of many therapies are not well known because patients with diabetes often take various diabetes medications, there occurs budding for herbal medicine and herb dietary habit supplement interactions, leading to contrary events. Long-standing complications of diabetes grow progressively.

Track-8: Nutrition Research

Diabetic Nutrition refers to the diet that is recommended for people with diabetes mellitus, or high blood glucose. There is abundant disagreement relating to what this diet ought to accommodate. Since carbohydrate is the macronutrient which raises blood glucose levels most importantly, the greatest debate is regarding how low in carbohydrates the diet ought to be.

Track-10: Management and Prevention

Endocrinology increases the risk of long-term complications. Endocrinology doubles the risk of cardiovascular disease and about 75% of deaths in diabetics are due to coronary artery disease. The primary complications of diabetes due to damage in small blood vessels include damage to the eyes, kidneys, and nerves. Damage to the eyes, known as diabetic retinopathy, is caused by damage to the blood vessels in the retina of the eye. Damage to the kidneys, known as diabetic nephropathy, can lead to tissue scarring, urine protein loss, and eventually chronic kidney disease.

Track-11: Research and Advancements

The new analysis has led to expanded perception of the procedure conceal the anatomical dropping of sensitivity to insulin (commonly called insulin resistance) in type 2 diabetes and the evolution of advanced treatments for these patients. In fact, various analysis by the NIH (the Diabetes Prevention Program), have shown that these two interpositions increase sensitivity to insulin and reduce the development of diabetes in people with pre-diabetes. The prevention of diabetes improves the quality and length of life. In addition, researchers have discovered new treatments that enhance blood sugar control and reduce the incidence of diabetes and its complications.

Track-12: Vascular Complications:

Endocrine signals that influence the cardiovascular system can be divided largely into two types according to whether they are mediated by nuclear receptors or cell surface receptors that work by initiating second messenger signaling cascades. We discuss below the roles of nuclear and cell surface receptors separately. However, in reality, the actions of both types of signal overlap extensively and are significantly integrated. Cardiovascular disease and diabetes have emerged as major public health problems, both as distinct clinical entities and as comorbid conditions.

Track-13: Obesity and Metabolism

Obesity is an abnormal or excessive body fat accumulation. It is identified by a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. Metabolic syndrome is associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2diabetes. Insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and prediabetes are closely related to one another and have overlapping aspects. The syndrome is thought to be caused by an underlying disorder of energy utilization and storage. The cause of the syndrome is an area of ongoing medical research. Complications caused include cardiovascular disorders (particularly in people with excess abdominal fat), diabetes mellitus, certain cancers, cholelithiasis, fatty liver, cirrhosis, osteoarthritis, reproductive disorders in men and women, psychologic disorders.
